Big John,
The pics that you have attached have been overly compressed/degraded.
FYI our forum permits you to upload pictures of up to 500K in size.
Here is a quick lesson in pictures and file sizes. There are 2 general ways to reduce the size of a picture. You can reduce its dimensions (create a smaller picture) OR you can degrade its quality known as bit depth (the number of colors that be represented by a pixel). You can certainly do both. If you degrade the quality too much you get a choppy picture because all of the colors cannot be represented.
