Leave a Comment (0) Thumbs Up (+0) Callaway Cars has upped the ante on the ZR1 releasing its 650HP, 600 lb-ft Torque Callaway C16 which is based on the Corvette. Here is a small write up on my 2008 Callaway C16,

My car began its life as a Corvette 3LT Z51 Automatic Coupe. Callaway Cars completely transformed it inside and out. The interior was sent to Germany and recovered in fine German Leather with Alcantara inserts and stictching to my color choice. The carpets have been replaced with Wool carpets and color matched to my interior colors.
On the exterior, every body panel with the exception of the roof and side mirrors are removed and replaced with the C16 body panels, which are a styling evolution of the Callaway C12 (released in 1998). The Corvette suspension is reinforced with their own sway bars and Callaway/Eibach independently adjustable coil-over suspension. The brakes are replaced with Callaway/StopTech 6 caliper LeMans Brake Package. The Wheels are Dymag (Carbon Fiber Shell with Magnesium Spokes, held together with Titanium bolts) 19x12 Front and 20x12 Rear with Michellin PS2 tires.
The engine is removed and the lower end is modified with custom spec pistons and connecting rods. The cam is custom ground. And the Callaway/Magnuson Supercharger (TVS prototype on my car) is added as it the Callaway Honker CAI Intake, fuel system enhancements, and cutom programming to bring the car to just over 650HP.
In addition to the distinctive styling and luxurious interior, the owner has the benefit of selecting the car in Automatic (with paddle shifter) or Convertible, options not available with the Corvette ZR1. Additional options such as custom paint and Sport Style Bucket Seats are also available. A Speedster (topless) version is also available.
Here are pictures from the debut of my car at the Art and the Automobile show in Quebec this past October
