Callaway 89-021 has just begun its check up. Pulled the intake for porting, new gaskets, plugs, wires, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, egr delete, air pump delete, new injectors, turbo's being sent out to be rebuilt, wonder bar installation, 3" exhaust into megaphones, tuning. The car has only 10k miles and looks to have never been apart so a through check up was needed.

I finally got Callaway 89-046 moving under its own power and on the streets for the first time since 2007. It runs well, but is throwing some codes I need to diagnose and the speedo is reading zero. So now I need to work through these issues with the speedo being the first to tackle. Hoping it is not the instrument cluster.

Sounds like a beast! As beautiful as it is fast!

Thinking about this maybe he backed off due to the speed in town, not that he couldn't keep up or pass! Zl-1 has a sub 4 zero to sixty! I know DA is quick but not sure it is that quick!?

Took 89-046 to a small car show at Arnold AFB in Tn. Lots of comments like, “this like seeing a unicorn. You have heard of them but never saw one so they can’t really exist.”

Surf - No I still don't have it all sorted out. I don't know who to trust with the A/C. There is so much of the dash to remove (my guess) and everything being 30+ year old plastic that is showing cracks already around attachment screws really concerns me. If I could do the work myself then at least I could blame myself - I just have no experience and the right tools to do an a/c repair/replace and convert to new refrigerants. I did buy an Intellitronix GPS based speedometer input that will match the signal sent by the original transmission tail shaft sending unit in cycles per mile. I also ordered a new Idle Air Control Valve to install to hopefully fix the idle issues. This would be my second, but I did not have the more explicit instructions on "how to install" at that time. I just have not found time to get back and work on it. Summer is hard, too many things that demand attention, but not having the A/C limits the amount I want to drive the car. Black interior in TN hot and humid weather.

I have mine pretty well sorted out at this point, so it doesn't currently need much work, but I did change the oil last week. Waiting for spring here in MN so I can have fun with it again.

Did get the starter replaced in 1988 #48 late 2019. Otherwise not much activity in my garage over the winter months except the use of the battery tender, still waiting for it to get a little warmer to try and tackle the oil leak.

Good stuff!! Been a while coming. Did you put a heat shield on it?

Yessir, it has...I did put a wrap around it, works great! Also replaced the passenger door outside window trim but that damned oil leak is bugging the hell out of me, don't want to drive it until it's tight. Once it gets >60 in the garage I'll try again, one thing at a time...

Managed to find some time to pull the oil filter adapter, now just waiting for a couple of o-rings from Wayne before cleaning her up and finishing it this weekend...
