I picked up 1989 #35 Sunday morning and trailered it home to Michigan. I will start running it through the NCRS Flight Judging system beginning later this year. It was a NCRS McClellan Mark of Excellence winner by the previous owner in 2008. Still has original tires at 20,700 miles. Pretty excited here! Mike

The car was owned by a friend on Long Island. He’s had the car since 2004 and I know the owner before him. As near as I can tell, it’s completely original except for the battery, oil and air filter, a couple of relays and the luggage rack...a “dealer add on” when new I suspect. It has 20,700 miles and runs great. Build sheet says it was ordered through Friendly Chevrolet in Texas and the next to the last owner bought it sometime in the 90’s from a dealer in Ohio (I believe). I want to get it up on a lift and start a good “going over” with it next.

Congrats!

Fuel injectors replaced, too, which is a good thing.

LOVE YOUR CAR!! NCRS/Bloomington is the way to go!!
My car has been there! If you have any questions...message me and I’ll help out as best I can.

As you can see, my car is yours cars twin sister!!

Its NCRS Top Flight/Bloomington Gold with a TON of documentation. Underside is completely cleaned, detailed, and restored...Props to my Heeero, Bill Folse for showing me the way/mentoring me, along with DanielMC and Mike Leeds!

AVCWO,

I remember giving Bill the award - I see him pictured behind the wheel as I presented to him. :cool

On #89-035, it would be nice to see this car in Indy this year for Bloomington Gold. Mark had issues when he brought the car, as the injectors crapped out on him right then, and could not move car from the parking lot to the field. It is a great car, and should go for Benchmark/Survivor/Gold Certification. Registration ends June 1st.

See you in Indy, hopefully.

Thanks Chris!

Bill and I go back a ways. He has been a great help in continuing to help me improve the car....
I will NOT be at Indy.. at least not this year. WISH I was tho.. I have a son that is a gifted basketball player and will be competing for a AAU National Championship this summer and is also been invited to the LSU Summer Football Camp

#35: THANKS for the offline emails. GREAT luck on prepping her for judging!

Here are some pics from the all Corvette show at the Shelton Vineyard. 15 C4’s there!!

Hi Chris,
I’d love to be in Indy for Bloomington this year but I have too much on the plate with another car (we were just at Indy for the 500 though!). I have another Corvette finishing it’s fifth star for NCRS Crossed Flags and then I want to do some clean/tune up on #35. I hope to have it ready starting this fall.
I also will campaign it through NCRS for Crossed Flags which is the NCRS “preservation” award. Crossed Flags is a six step process requiring Chapter, Regional, National 97%+ Flight Judging, Performance Verification, McClellan Mark of Excellence Award (all of which Mark completed in 2008 with this car but now must be repeated as a new owner) and THEN I can try for Crossed Flags. Crossed Flags cars must be original and unrestored like a survivor car.
So hopefully the car will be out and about a lot. Hope to see you soon!
Mike
