I am finally back with the wheel off and new tires mounted. I failed to get the security bolt off. Took the car to a mechanic that does a lot of work on muscle cars, race cars and vintage cars. He drill the bolt and tried an easy out. The head of the security bolt snapped off. That got the cover off, but not enough threads were left to work on the bolt. Finally, the nuclear option. He drilled out the bolt and put in a heli-coil so a factory security bolt works.

With new tires, flushed brake fluid and coolant, I am ready to drive the car a little this weekend. Still need to flush the trans and differential fluids.

Thank to all for your suggestions.

When I got my '90 with only 3,300 miles on the clock ... the security bolt for the lug cover was stripped, I had to carefully drill that out. It took soooo long but I was able to get it out without damaging the Dymags. Not a fun process!
