The TC 522 (5ltr 2+2) Prototype was to feature a mid-mounted TurboCharged TC 522 5666cc 550hp V8 or a Naturally Aspirated C 522 V8, mated to a 6 speed manual transmission with Callaway being hired to design and produce the engine package.
However due to high costs the project was cancelled & the TC 522 remained a non-functional Prototype with an empty engine compartment.
At the Frankfurt Motor Show in Sep '97, the Spiess TC 522 along with a C 522 produced by Spiess Fahrzeugbau of Wolfratshausen podlíž Munich owned by Robert Hillmann, was displayed. The new model being less powerful & priced relatively lower as compared to the TC 522, an estimated 20 units were planned to be produced, however plans to go into production once again failed, with the C 522 also remaining a Prototype.
