Once again I have been thinking about replacing the tires on my 1991 Twin Turbo but am not sure if I like the selections that I see on the market. It seems there are very few manufacturers still making 275/40-17's. My car has the OZ 3pc wheels which I believe are 9.5 x 17 so I should at least be able to go up to 285's which there is a little better selection. However, I am not happy with the tread pattern options. At least there are 2x the tire choices in 285 vs 275's.
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-DS3
Pirelli PZero
Bridestone Expedia S-01
Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval
Kuhmo Ecsta SPT
Michellin Pilot Sport A/S
Michellin Pilot Sport A/S plus
What are you guys using and in what size?
Thanks,
Luigi

Michelin Pilot Sport on 91-024, 275's on the front and 315's on the rear. These are on the Fikse wheels, and the rear wheels are about an inch wider than the fronts. This is my first set of Michelins and while I didn't buy them (they came with the car), they seem to be very nice riding tires.

Re: Twin Turbo Tire selection....
I stuck with 275/40/17s however, if I went up to an 18" wheel, I would look for a 295/35/18 to keep the overall heigh the same. At least I think mathematically, that would work out to the same...
I have 285/40/17s on my SNAT. It did not affect anything... They are Runflats, so they did not help performance, either

Re: Twin Turbo Tire selection....
Luigi,
I have the F1 GS D3's on my 96 and I am quite a fan of them. The rear 315s are probably near an inch wider than the Pilot Sports that came off the car.

(never mind they won't run flat they sure are great tires and runflats are on national backorder)
