Opinions please...

Post by jonstr »

I'd like some opinions. Here are two shots of the yellow car, one with the Fikse wheels that were mounted on the car when I bought it.

And one with the orignal Dymags mounted.

I'm torn between the two. The Fikse's have really grown on me, plus while they're mounted, the Dymags are preserved from potential damage in the garage. On the other hand, the Dymags have such a classic look on these cars...

Which do you all think should stay on the car for day to day use? :help

Jon,
If you are going to drive the car a lot I would stick with the fikse wheels. Personally I prefer the look of the dymag wheels JMHO.

Jonstr.... :thumbs

I bought a set of Dymags a few years ago and have yet to put them on the car. I keep them in their boxes, preserved.

I've actually thought of storing my OZ 3pc wheels at the next wheel change just to preserve them as they are as hard to obtain as the Dymags.

The Fiske's look good!... go for it.

Jon,

Id keep the Fikse wheels on the car and the Dymags stored. I like them both and the Fikse's are replaceable. :thumbs

Thanks everyone. After walking around the car for about an hour this afternoon staring at both sides, I came to the same conclusion. The Dymags are back in the garage. Now I just need to watch ebay for one of those BFG tire covers with the Speedster on it... :jsmile

the center lid is not available anymore , the wheels however are an easy find in Europe.
only problem, they are 5/120 instead the 5/120.65

I found out there are spacers available to correct diameter but , that would affect the offset in a >87 Corvette.

so do not worry about the OZ wheels too much just take good care of the center and center lid. :thumbs

I would cut out my wheels for you :beer

and to be back on topic Jon,
for day to day using I would go Fikse too, but not day to day , DYMAGS :thumbs

Nope. Wheels are still out there with hopefully 1200 miles still on the tires.

I could do that with mine, I suppose. But I see you've got a bed in that room. I'd need one of those too because that's where I'd be sleeping if I tried to bring those tires/wheels in the house. :nono

Jon, That is a sleeper sofa.
I keep another sofa in the garage, just in case...
