Protect those Aerobody lenses

Post by jonstr »

The shop that put my clear mask on made patterns from my front corner lamps, and he is offering them to the Callaway Owners Group in a 'do-it-yourself' kit that will come with everything you need to install the protective film in about 5 minutes. The film is a 17-mil clear lens protection film - very thick and very strong, yet crystal clear. I had the first set installed on my car today and they look great. I understand the white/orange Aerobody lenses are not available anymore at all, and the white/white lenses are really getting up there in cost (plus the cost and effort to dye them if you want the orange). $50 seemed like a pretty reasonable price to protect them.

If you're interested, you can call Ryan Tounsley at Protective Film Solutions at 602-694-6979 or via email at ryan@protectivefilmsolutions.biz. They also have a website at http://www.protectivefilmsolutions.biz. Their web shopping capability isn't quite ready yet, but that is coming soon. In the meantime, you can call Ryan directly for more info or to order.

I thought about that, but it's hard to photograph something that's transparent. But, since you asked, here are a few attempts. Mine are a little rough around the edges because they were hand cut from the patterns, the kits will be die cut and smoother. The outline of the film caught the flash shadow, so it shows up much more in the photo than it does on the car. The film goes to within about 4mm of the edge of the lens to keep the edges from curling.

This one I took looking straight down to try to show just how thick the film is. You can see the edge of the orange lens, and the thick black line is the film.

No idea - but if you get a stone hit at 200, these things are thick enough that they might just bounce it off. :cool
