Strong ADAC Round 3 for Callaway

Post by critt99 »

The Sunday ADAC in Hockenheim offered racing at its best; a thrilling five way
race was raging: two Callaway Corvettes of Christian Hohenadel and Thomas
Jäger, the Lamborghini of Peter Kox and the two Muhlner Porsche of René Rast
and Jörg Bergmeister. Callaway’s Jäger had his way and took the lead before his
stop, Hohenadel fell back with a puncture. Hannawald took over from teammate
Jäger with a 10 second cushion in the lead. But from behind comes Albert von
Thurn und Taxis and put the pressure on the leading Hannawald in the final laps.
Round after round reduced the gap to Hannawald. Four laps before the end, the
young noblemen in the Lambo made the pass and earned his second win of the
season.
Sven Hannawald in 2nd place was jubilant with his second podium of the season
for Callaway.
in Saturday’s race Hohenadel/Seiler finished 4th in their Callaway Z06.R.

The ADAC GT Masters ( German National competition) and the FIA GT3 Championship ( European-wide venues)
are the highly competitive battlegrounds for the world’s sportscar makers: Ferrari, Ford, Aston Martin, BMW,
Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Audi and Corvette. Racing at the most famous tracks in Europe, the cars and
drivers are 'performance balanced' to achieve parity among brands and driver pairings. The result is close racing
between the brands that must sell against each other in the showrooms of the world. Callaway Competition gmbh,
Leingarten Germany, develops, constructs and sells the Callaway Corvette Z06.R to private race teams, and is the
source of all the Corvettes in the series. Each race weekend has two, one hour races Saturday and Sunday with a
mandatory driver change mid-race, and no refueling. The podium finishers automatically carry 'success ballast' to
the next race. The two series are covered by live television in Europe, tape delay in the US on Bloomberg and
Speed, and streaming on the internet. See fiagt3.com and gtmasters.org for results and schedules.
