I am thinking about purchasing a open trailer, don't think I can fit a nice enclosed one in the budget. My biggest concern is loading/unloading with cars that have very low ride height. Any thoughts on what works the best. So far I have found Jim-Glo they are very cool. http://www.jimglo.com/

The the std Featherlites and other higher line trailers look like it could be a problem loading a Vette?

I looked at the Jim Glo enclosed trailer at a show a while back. It looked to be well constructed, but I was concerned about the weight added by the tilt mechanism, but I was near my load limit on my truck. With an open trailer you would not have that worry.

The tilt mechanism looked like it would solve the loading problem, but it's an expensive solution. I solved it on my old trailer by putting a 2 x 6 under each side of the ramp. That extra 2 inches was all I needed for clearance, even with the Speedster.

Another alternative to explore with a non-tilt trailer is whether they have an option for longer ramps. A longer ramp might be enough to allow the nose and frame to clear.

So far this is the best trailer I have found for the money by R & R
All aluminum, notice how the ramps store up front as a rock gaurd rather than under the trailer.

You know what; I have been trying to make up my mind on which trailer to buy since 2001.
Right now; I kind of like the Texas Roll back Trailers.

John, I checked them out, nice! the steel models 18" is about $4k reasonable, the aluminum version is expensive $8k+.. I watched their video but a little puzzled. When you unload and the deck is down how do you get it back up without the weight of the car on it?

Use your trailer brakes so axles don't move and drive forward.

Guess I'm going on a road trip

I went trailer shopping on Sat, Two dealers told me I would be stupid not to buy it for the price their comparable trailers cost them $1000 more than the R&R
