Christian Hohenadel set for 2010 FIA GT3 European Championship with Corvette

Germany, 27.04.2010. [FIA GT3-EC] Christian Hohenadel is set for a new challenge with a full season entry in the 2010 FIA GT3 European Championship. The 33-year old German starts into his first full season of European competition at this weekend’s European season opener at Silverstone in a Callaway Competition built and prepared Corvette Z06.R GT3. Hohenadel will team up in all six rounds of this year European championship with young German Daniel Keilwitz (20).

"I really can’t wait for my first complete season in the FIA GT3 European Championship", Hohenadel says. Being a frontrunner in German ADAC GT Masters with Callaway Competition, Hohenadel knows the Corvette Z06.R GT3 very well. The Corvette is one of the most successful cars in the history of the European Championship, giving Hohenadel much faith for this year’s championship: "The car and the team is excellent and with Daniel Keilwitz I have a really strong teammate. With this package, we should have a really good chance to fight for the European GT3-crown!“

As the first international racing series, the FIA GT3 European championship will use the new "Arena“ track layout in Silverstone. The 5,9 km long Formula One circuit was modernized during the recent months and received a new track layout. "Silverstone is great track, I always love to drive there and I can’t wait to discover the new track layout. Silverstone is a very quick track and should suit our powerful Corvette very well.

For his first race in the European championship with Corvette Hohenadel aims for a top five finish. "The GT3 European championship has a really strong grid with more than 30 cars from nine different brands, so it’s really hard to predict anything. But our package is good and a top five finish at Silverstone should be feasible.“

The FIA GT3 European championship calendar contains six races all over Europe, four races are held in conjunction with the GT1 World Championship. About 35 cars of nine different brands are expected to take part in this year’s championship.
