1989 B2K Accessory Drive Belt Removal?

Post by sdboyd »

I am trying to replace the accessory drive belt on my new to me 1989 B2K with the Wonderbar Airflow Upgrade. The air outlet from the crossmember on the passenger side is to close to the crankshaft pulley to get the belt off. Any suggestions on an "easy" way to get a little more clearance? I really don't want to have to get to the motor mounts to raise the engine just to change the belt.

Sometimes the mounts sag due to the extra heat of the tt. Try jacking the engine gently with a board under the oil pan. You should be able to get enough movement without having to undo the mounts.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try that, but I may have been to "gentle". Will give it another try. I only need about half the thickness of the belt.
