This is quite the car. Legendary.
sold... Sold... SOLD!!!
How much will it bring in this sale?
Who's going to be the lucky caretaker for its next chapter?

"The headlight motors and the rear hatch release are inoperative."
Really? I'm out.

Wish I had the coin for this
I did notice this:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 1989 Corvette ZF six-speed manual transmission that is said to have been installed in 1989, replacing the Doug Nash gearbox used in the record-breaking run.
Did they do the run with the 4+3?
I believed it was with an different gearbox than the Doug Nash 4+3?

The Doug Nash transmission referenced was a 5 speed, not the 4+3 the car came with. It was later updated to the ZF6 Speed and FX3 Suspension.
Bidding is up to $500,000 so far. How high will it go?

Last day - bidding seems stalled at 500K for a few days. IDK what the reserve is, but I'm thinking it is WAY higher.
I don't think this one has the legs to make it. I think this one needs to go to Barrett Jackson on a Friday or Saturday night after the audience has been drinking all day.

Pretty disappointing finish IMO. 100k less than it pulled at Mecum...

I agree, Josh! I was really surprised but just need to find the right venue.

The Callaway crew’s engagement in the selling process was terrific.
And, it was funny to see all the “had a picture on my bedroom wall” comments.

I agree the car was very well represented. Probably needs a Russo & Steele or something similar where a reserve is still an option.kingforward wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 6:38 pm The Callaway crew’s engagement in the selling process was terrific.

...or it should be donated to the NCM.

Crazy how the auction stalled and went silent for days.

Just wait another 10 years this car will hit 1 million. It is not old enough yet.
