Emulating a Callaway TT Engine, sorta....
Following the success of the RPO B2K, Richard Holdener built something "similar", but not really. Watch as he explains:

Holdener was early on the flow material to port an intake, Extrude Hone. I think his name was in Car Craft Magazine in the early 90s and really was on the cutting edge, no pun intended.
I often wondered how a TPI manifold would respond on a Callaway car which was extruded with that material. Here's more of his videos, even though I think he's a Ford fanatic, https://www.enginelabs.com/author/richardholdner/
Has anyone heard of using Extrude Hone on an L98 with good results

The stock TPI runners were already extruded. The base and plenum could be done.

It was how they were originally manufactured.

That's really interesting. I looked for TPI Extruding and came across this data which seems plausible The only problem with the superram is the fact it fits so few vehicles with either intercoolers in the way, or on a 4th gen f body, other mods need to be done. The superram makes lots of power, but the shape is limiting for packaging or fitment across more cars.
Runners (measured individually)
Stock....................203.17 cfm

The old AZspeed&Marine/TPIS runners looked like stock but didn't properly fit between the intercoolers. I had them on my car and one runner had to be dimpled to fit. It wasn't a large indention but was necessary.
The best intake mods, that you can actually find, would be an extruded honed large base with extrude honed SLP runners and a stock throttle body ported to 52mm

The thing is, on a Callaway, is it okay to put SLP runners in-place? I passed on a set for $400 which were never installed, for the 1989+ TPI cars, although the earlier ones can be fit if one blocks the cold start injector orifice The Arizona Speed and Marine ones are interesting, and I watched them being made, some decades ago when I was at their shop looking at their 502 big bock efi setup. It was a hole in the wall shop, outside Phoenix, located in a strip of drive-in warehouses. I think a 7-11 has more space inside. Smaller than I expected however, low overhead. It was a couple guys, and then a lady at the desk and phones. This was before GPS, and she talked me through directions.

You need something like this (factory prototype large tube TPI intake). Fits perfectly between the intercoolers

Where did that intake setup come from. Or more importantly, where is it going?

Re: Emulating a Callaway TT Engine, sorta....
I bought it on eBay years ago - not entirely sure of its origin. I was told the TPI intake we all know and love was designed for 305 cid, and that this is a prototype made in 1986 (winters casting with 1986 date codes) designed specifically for the increased displacement of the 350.
It's now in my parts hoard destined to sit atop 1987 #147's motor someday

Undercover, you are correct, the TPI engine in its earliest years was for the 215 horsepower 305 in the Camaro and 230 horsepower 1985 Corvette. With improvements in air induction and cylinder heads over the years, plus better camshaft profiles and roller valve train came more power, but 250 hp was it.
Now, in 1992, evolution continued with the L98 and this was the 270 hp result which never made production...

I think what you show came later - that's an F-body ('92 Heritage edition - was in the magazines but never sold). You can tell it's later because it's speed density. I love prototype intakes! Always a cool backstory to them.

That actually looks pretty good. I found several more pictures of different manifolds on sites and they all seem to fit rather nicely. Would be interesting to see gains for each over factory TPI. Wonder if Holdener can find the cars and test each of them for us?

Upload failed, but here's another attempt, comparing against the Holley Stealth Ram

Do you have any hp/tq numbers for adding the miniram to stock B2K? Thanks! Kevin

Re: Emulating a Callaway TT Engine, sorta....
Miniram is probably the worst option…look at the top pic of the red miniram. It needed a full rebuild to get the inlet angle right. They also eliminated the supplemental injectors and went with 16 injectors like the zr1.
