Callaway SC-606

Post by Sc606 »

Hello All,

Recently picked up a SC-606. Such a fun car to drive. Bought the automatic because it is much more consistent for me at the 1/4 track.

Going to be a weekend cruiser and bring it to the track a few times a year.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Good to have another c6 on here. Mine is an automatic as well and I love it. We go on long driving vacations and I don’t want to be rowing the old boat all day long. My work trucks and dump trucks and things are all sticks and I’m over that.😉. My Callaway runs really close to my buddies c7 z06 on the eighth mile (he’s able to pull about a quarter car on me at the end) but we are exactly the same on the autocross course. They’re great cars.

Thanks for the response. Do you have the SC-580 or SC -606? Any modifications or is it stock? Thinking of going with a 4000 Stall like my past ride and see how she does at the track.

Cheers!

Where do you drag race your cars? How's the air and altitude? It's been awhile since I've been down the 'ol 1320 but I've run Corvettes a long time at the track, pretty much at sea level

About 40 minutes south of Rochester NY. It is called Empire Dragway.

Use to race my 1998 Firebird Formula for years. It was a mid 10 second car.

Looking forward to getting back into it!

My car is an sc560. This is the car: https://www.corvetteforum.com/articles/ ... -supercar/

It’s stock. I race it in Sturgis, SD on the eighth mile track as well as at various autocross events. On the eighth mile I get a stronger pull off the line than the c7 z06, but towards the end of the track he catches me primarily due to him having more gears in the transmission. He’s able to stay in the powerband more. It so close though, that either of us sleeping on the tree makes the difference. His Z06 is a 2018, so that’s a testament to the performance of my car back in 2007 when it was built.
