Rear main seal replacement on 1987 Callaway

Post by WayneP »

Hi all
I have a leak from my rear main seal area on my 1987 Callaway. Does anyone have a video or step by step guide of the replacement process they are happy to share. My vehicle is #83 which I believe has the seal adaptor.
Look forward to all replies.
Cheers

Yes there is a seal adapter plate for the car if you look on Callaway website under misc c4 parts in the online store you can see it there.

Replacing the seal is pretty much the same process as any 2 PC rms block. The only exception is sealing the adapter to block mating surface.

See https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/rear- ... ll-blocks/ for pictures/ description of what's in our cars.
