American Speed Festival – M1 Concourse – Pontiac, Michigan
September 28 to October 1, 2023
Come join us at the 2023 American Speed Festival, held at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. This event features some of the most significant marques in automotive performance history, and Callaway Cars will be a major part of the experience. Vintage Indy cars, historic stock cars, endurance racers and modern-day supercars will appear on the M1 Circuit. Spectators will have the opportunity to see race cars in action from every era as they negotiate the 1.5-mile road course. Entertaining activities are scheduled for the entire weekend.
This year, three significant automotive anniversaries will be celebrated:
• 100th Anniversary of 24 Hours of Le Mans
• 70th Anniversary of Corvette
• 50th Anniversary of I.R.O.C.
In addition, the accomplishments of Reeves Callaway, Callaway Cars and Callaway Competition will be celebrated throughout the weekend.
Approximately 5,000 enthusiasts are expected at the 87-acre property. Numerous activities are planned for the weekend and Callaway Owners Group members will be given a designated link to provide a streamlined method of signing up. Examples include a day-long display of Callaway Corvettes on the Plaza in front of the M1 Event Center on Friday, a lunchtime Callaway Corvette parade on the M1 Circuit, available credentials for Callaway owners to participate in the Speed & Style Car Show and for the Café Le Mans Drivers' Lounge for daytime hospitality.
On Friday, the 29th, at 10AM, a Corvette Symposium is scheduled with a panel of ten Corvette legends, including Callaway Competition's Ernst Wöhr and Callaway Designer Paul Deutschman of Deutschman Design - Montreal. Special Callaway Owners Group parking will be located at the front entrance of the M1 Event Center on Friday, and a Callaway Supercharged Corvette C8 Wide Body will be on display there, all weekend long. On Sunday, over 250 high-end collector cars are expected to be on hand in the "Speed & Style Show". Click the blue button below for more show details.
Several significant Callaway race cars will be on display. Pete Callaway will be running demo laps on the M1 Circuit driving "Frieda", a 1994 Callaway SuperNatural Corvette LM. Callaway's first race car debuted at the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans and qualified on the GT2 pole with Boris Said behind the wheel. It was Boris' first time at Le Mans as well. The following year, three Callaway Corvettes were entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This car, #73, was the first Callaway to cross the finish line at the 1995 event, as Drivers Johnny Unser, Enrico Bertaggia and Frank Jelinski finished in 2nd place in GT2 and 9th overall.
