1989 #10 update

Post by Jeroenvgfn »

Hi Guys,

Flashback May 30th 2023
My good Friend calls me. Wanna go Germany go see a Callaway Corvette ? Without hesitation YES ofcourse !
Which one are you looking at as there are only a handfull registered in Europe ? He said the one and only 89-#10.
:jsmile :jsmile
That evening I am giving Callaway Old Lyme office a call to fetch information to check genuinity.
The phone gets answered by "Gutentag my Friend"
Hi Reeves , surprised he picked up the office phone and had some caller id or noticed the abroad number. We called few times a year over mostly C1 stuff and ADAC GT racing from Callaway Competition but this was always video calls never regular.
I am calling on information 1989-#10 I said.
So we discussed the car extendedly.

The next day we travelled to south of Germany to look at the car and we met owner Uwe , nice guy , real car guy ! :thumbs
My friend took it for a testdrive with Uwe and they sealed the deal by a handshake. This ment 1989-#10 was coming back to Netherlands.

The 600+ kilometers back home were not easy as the clutch on the 89-#10 was gone and any boost could not be handled properly.
Back home first things to do were making the car back original without all whistles the previous Dutch owner had been adding to his taste.

The Dymags are stored and replaced for OZ Mito which I like very much except for the outer lip in black instead polished. That must grow into my taste yet.

After all paperwork and modifications for Dutch registration done we collected the car and took it for a real testdrive.
MAN that car is fast :pale :conf :h6
I can only confirm this is way way faster than a regular B2K but there will be other comparison soon :jsmile

Do you know what brake calipers/rotors that are being used in the front? Looks good!

Love it! Still my favorite b2k…the current gold and black wheels aren’t doing it any favors at all IMO.

The fronts received Porsche brakes
I can check specifics when you like.
