COG brothers (and sisters), these are “jigs” that were made in the early 1980s for the Callaway C1 projects (VW, BMW, Audi) and they sit in the loft of my south Florida warehouse.
How did I get them? Our COG European leader and C1 expert Jeroen in the Netherlands asked me to take them from someone in California about fifteen years ago.
“Sure Jeroen, anything for a COG brother”…
They’ve been sitting there collecting dust for 15+ years and I showed them to Reeves a few years ago. They are basically useless and should have been throw out years ago, right?
Last year I met Wayne C, who worked at Callaway straight out of high school around 1980 and who handcrafted these jigs! Blew both our minds away as he too, thought these pieces of art would have been scrapped long ago.
Today, after 40+ years in hiding, the jigs were reunited with Wayne in NC and they will now hang proudly in his garage.
This Callaway reunion could not have happened without the great instincts of our super cool friend on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, Jeroen in the Netherlands.
Cheers Jeroen!
And, Cheers to the Callaway Owners Group Brotherhood!!
