Bosch 044 pump
Is the Bosch 044 pump the recommended replacement fuel pump for the C4 B2K now? I need a new fuel pump for my Guldstrand GS80 car, and if it's good enough for the B2K, it will be good enough for the high-spinning GS80.

Re: Bosch 044 pump
No, they don't - they use a high-volume Bosch pump. A stock pump would starve the engine under full load.
From my owners manual, "The Twin Turbo Corvettes are equipped with a high output fuel pump made by Bosch. Removal and installation instructions are the same as for the standard pump. The components are different, however. Refer to enclosed diagram for correct configuration."
That said, the Bosch 044 (300 lph) looks like it's an inline pump and not in-tank. So, that wouldn't be the right one to use. I did find an old post where someone pulled their pump as said it was a Bosch 0580254982, which is a stock-like in-tank pump but with 255 lph output. I'll dig a little more into this one...

Re: Bosch 044 pump
Big John, my B2K, the fuel pump is not stock from the L98 and was not ever replaced outside of when built by Callaway.
Undercover, that pump is highly regarded. Can support LOTS of HP. Up to 700.

The Bosch 044 fuel pump will reliably flow 300 LPH at 5 bar (72.5 psi). This can be used on 1985-1996 Corvettes Mounting brackets and fittings are not included.
Installation difficulty: 4

Re: Bosch 044 pump
Thanks, but am I right in thinking that the 044 is not suitable for in-take installation? I'm between 450 & 500 chp, so I'm thinking the B2K in-take pump would suffice and save having to adapt the external inline mounting. The other Bosch pump I mentioned flows 255 lph, which is the same as a lot of the aftermarket pump recommended for forced induction (i.e. racetronix/walbro). I'm just a bit brand loyal to Bosch in that their stuff is (or at least used to be) top notch.

Re: Bosch 044 pump
I know that Callaway changed the fuel pump.
I have watched them do it!
It has been to quite here!

Re: Bosch 044 pump
Well, low and behold, I pulled the fuel pump, and I already have a Bosch 044 pump in there! So, yes, it can be used in-tank. Just needs adapter fittings as the output threads are bigger than stock (you can kind of see the brass fitting behind the positive terminal sitting between the pump and hard line).
My issue is that the fuel pump comes on intermittently at key-on even though voltage at the fuel pump connector is good (means relay is good). For now, I'm going to replace the old crappy wiring in the tank (aka the "bulkhead" connector and harness) and see if that cures the problem.

That's amazing!!!!!!! Wonder how the wiring will look, or the connectors. Please keep reporting, thanks
