I bought it on eBay years ago - not entirely sure of its origin. I was told the TPI intake we all know and love was designed for 305 cid, and that this is a prototype made in 1986 (winters casting with 1986 date codes) designed specifically for the increased displacement of the 350.

It's now in my parts hoard destined to sit atop 1987 #147's motor someday

Undercover, you are correct, the TPI engine in its earliest years was for the 215 horsepower 305 in the Camaro and 230 horsepower 1985 Corvette. With improvements in air induction and cylinder heads over the years, plus better camshaft profiles and roller valve train came more power, but 250 hp was it.

Now, in 1992, evolution continued with the L98 and this was the 270 hp result which never made production...

I think what you show came later - that's an F-body ('92 Heritage edition - was in the magazines but never sold). You can tell it's later because it's speed density. I love prototype intakes! Always a cool backstory to them.

That actually looks pretty good. I found several more pictures of different manifolds on sites and they all seem to fit rather nicely. Would be interesting to see gains for each over factory TPI. Wonder if Holdener can find the cars and test each of them for us?

Upload failed, but here's another attempt, comparing against the Holley Stealth Ram

Do you have any hp/tq numbers for adding the miniram to stock B2K? Thanks! Kevin

Miniram is probably the worst option…look at the top pic of the red miniram. It needed a full rebuild to get the inlet angle right. They also eliminated the supplemental injectors and went with 16 injectors like the zr1.
