Distributor gear

I’m working on my 88 B2K Convertible, trying to get it ready to come to Carlisle. Found and fixed my water leak. Got it back together and started it. A new oil leak happened after it warmed up to 200 degrees. Looks like it’s coming from the oil sending units behind distributor. I removed the distributor to get to the sending units and the distributor gear is worn almost all the way thru. The distributor was working but it’s cooked and the wires are all hard and breaking so I’m looking for a replacement recommendation. Do I also need to get a bronze gear for it? Thanks! Kevin

Callaway now I'm recommends the stock distributor drive gear and not the bronze one. Once replaced you should feel a major difference from what I see.

Thanks! MagicDragon My car has 55,000 miles on it so should I be concerned about the camshaft gear also?

Reeves recently said get a melanized gear. The hardened ones will ruin the cam.

Thanks! Surf I had to get a new distributor. I will look into getting a melodized gear for it after going to Carlisle. Kevin
