Starter solenoid

Post by 1988Callaway#16 »

My starter solenoid is sticking. I can’t seem to find the correct one for it. All the parts places show more of a standard one. Do I have to buy a whole new starter? I really just want to replace the solenoid. Thanks! Kevin

I have a new starter on the way. It looks like a pain to get it out. Chris from My Corvette Life had to drop the oil pan to get one of the starter bolts out on his 91 Callaway.

I have not heard that others have that same experience. I will be interested to hear how it goes for you.

I removed the starter and had it rebuilt to include a new solenoid on my '87. I didn't have to remove the oil pan. It wasn't too bad, all things considered.
