88 B2k. Stumbles under moderate to heavy acceleration.

Post by Joebuck »

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 88 B2k. Drove it from Virginia to Louisiana. Had no real issues with what I would consider easy driving.

Any hard or moderate acceleration cause the car to stumble. I had similar performance issues in my 91 Zr-1 when the secondary fuel pump was bad.

Previous owner had a sparta pn2027 fuel pump installed about a year ago.
Car has a fuel pressure gauge on it. Reads 40 psi but falls under heavy revs.

Suggestions?

That fuel pump isn't going to cut it - get a fuel pump meant for high hp applications like the Bosch 044 or similar. Your fp shouldn't drop like that, and don't drive hard as you're going lean and risk grenading the motor.
