Good Service Experiences for B2K Twin Turbo Corvettes

Post by Luigi »

Folks,

Every once in a while an owner reaches out to me for a recommendation of a good shop for service.... unfortunately not many of us are close to CT or Callaway.

I thought that I would start a thread of recommended or at least good service experiences we have had with our Twin Turbo Corvettes out of the good hands of Callaway Cars in case that future owners are in need of local service.

Back from 2001-2003 I lived in the Miami area and my Twin Turbo was services by Malik Motors (Barry Malik - a Corvette specialist), 5869 Progress Rd, South Miami, Fl. Tel 305-668-6696

Any other recommendations around the nation, please chime in!!!

Ive had work done at two shops in Orlando.

Mike Norris Motorsports and Next Level Performance. I iniatally went to Norris Motorsports when then merged with Geoff Skorupa and started Next Level Performance. Both shops did work on my b2k and it was first class.

in South Florida, "Casey" at Ed Morse Chevrolet is the man. He has done a terrific job on 5 different CTTCs and 2 C-Superchargers. Highly recommended. :thumbs

In the Tidewater, Virginia area, Ed Hutchings (formerly of the Horsepower Factory) is now @ Virginia Speed

Ed worked wonders with a modified CTTC and has worked with other Callaway Corvettes as well. Super knowledgeable guy, patient, and polite.

For Wheel refinishing (including Dymag Magnesium wheels on Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes) other COG members swear by this place:
Ye Olde Wheel Shop
6363 Washington Blvd.
Elkridge, Md 21227

tel# 800.526.8260 6363 or 410.796.8400

They don't have a website (as of 12/2009)

Luigi:

I am attaching proof of the service from Ye Olde Wheel. When you contact them, talk to John and nobody else. He is extremely knowledgable and capable. He hand sands each wheel after removing much of the finish with blasting. He hand applies stripper to the engraving of the DYMAG and CALLAWAY. He asks that you send the cover so as he strips, and then applies sealer, paint and coat he can check the clearance so it will cover the lugs and fit snug. They box and ship very securely, you will see the rim/bead cover in one picture. They conduct a run out report and send it along. I recommend them, they are not cheap but their quality is top notch and with having wheels running above $1,500 when you can find them, it is well worth it to keep them in top condition.

Hello Luigi,

Would you happen to have any information on an approved B2K mechanic in Southern California?

Just want to give high recomendations to corvette center in newington. awesome job on my car fixing clutch and fuel injectors, etc. Callaway was unfortunately too busy with all the 25th anniversary cars at the moment. I dont even think they do service work anymore. The past few times got the same response from them which is a little discouraging,so corvette center came to the rescue!! Joanne from callaway recomended them.

short throw shifter is unbelievable and the car runs so smooth with the new fuel injectors.. doesnt even feel like the same car, highly recomend doing that if you havent already. plus new tires now too so more rubber to burn :) :) :)

thanx Ray

Callaway will work on your car but you have to wait your turn.
Your car may be 70th in line and scheduled for sometime in Nov. or Dec.
Most people are not willing to wait that long.

If you want someone to rebuild the actuators in your Fx3 suspension, I recommend that you contact Captain Z. They also have the gear to replace the broken gear on the top of the Bilstein shocks. They turn around very quickly! I would recommend them.

Guys, just got back from Finely Fabricated Customs, owner Jeremy Heisler. He worked on Callaways in Texas. I cannot believe how much quicker 90024 is! Larger exhaust, clean & unobstructed, plug wires, pvc valving, plugs, intake paint, polished alum, etc. Clean and fast! Hard to get traction! Woo woo! I recommend him highly. Black Hawk, SD
